“The future belongs to those who believe in the quality of their dreams” said Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, the famous German Poet.
Many people imagine great things and say to themselves, “I will make my dreams come true.” Dreams are the same as wishes: they are things we fantasize about, yet do little to ensure they happen, although we do know that realizing them will make us feel ecstatic.
When we were kids, we allowed ourselves to dream. As we grew up, however, there were those people that told us that dreaming is a waste of time. They have no clue what they are talking about.
Allow yourself to dream! This marks the beginning of your journey to find what you really want in life. Every person has the ability to make their dreams a reality with proper motivation.
Know yourself. Understand your strengths and accept your weaknesses (all of us have them.) Build on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. An honest analysis of yourself is the first and foremost step in preparing to embark on the journey of dream realization.
Visualize your dream and make it a reality in your imagination first. This makes you all the more determined and your dream more real. First make a commitment to achieve your dreams and take action to fulfill that commitment.
Although, we understand the meaning of goal setting, we rarely do it with the conviction that is required. Goal setting is a magnificent endeavor. By setting goals, you are conditioning your brain to let your conscious mind find the information and opportunities that you desire.
How do you set goals? First understand what it is that you wish to achieve. Next question should be the time frame and how the final picture will look like.
You must remember to be specific to realize your dreams. If your primary goal is to own a house by the end of 2008, decide on how big the house would be and how much money would be needed to build it. Next, think about how you are going to go about earning that money. What are you going to do to make enough money to be able to build that house?
You then make smaller goals, weekly, monthly and quarterly. Take all the necessary steps to begin working towards that dream. Take action and do whatever it takes, consistently achieving the smaller goals first. If something does not work, do not get disappointed or frustrated, go ahead with something else. Nothing can stop you, if you really want it bad enough. If you have seen the documentary, “The Secret,” you would understand all about the “law of attraction.”
I know it is sometimes difficult to believe that you can make your dreams come true. Fear of failure takes over and you lose track. Believing in yourself is very important. This is not the same as having confidence. This is all about being clear in your heart that what you have set out to do will work out. Remember, we always learn far more from our failures than our successes. Even the darkest tunnel has a light at the end. You will encounter days of negative thoughts and you may lose motivation, but keep going, these feelings will pass.
Take risks if necessary. You will also encounter people who make fun of you or warn you that you should not be taking risks or that you will make mistakes. They will be around the corner waiting for you to make mistakes, only to point out, “I did tell you.” Pay no heed. Majority of people are conditioned to mediocrity and to see others successful irks them. Let them not influence your thinking, if you do, you will never be able to pursue your dreams. Make the forces of the Universe work for you and be positive at all times. Positivity attracts positive energy.
Anyone can make their dreams come true if you have a realistic goal. Planning helps renew enthusiasm and makes things look less overwhelming and more possible. You gain confidence with each step you take. Go for that dream! It is within you.
